Re: Daylight Saving Time

Because of the changes to the Daylight Saving Time (DST) dates this year, it is necessary stop the Lighting Supervisor III, edit a configuration file, and then restart the Lighting Supervisor III. This procedure must be performed annually, during the Standard Time period approximately from November through February. The file to be edited is: C:\Program Files\Lighting Supervisor III\Enexmngr.ini Locate this file using Windows Explorer, and then open it either by double clicking, or by right clicking and selecting an application to open it such as Notepad.

Once open, scroll down and locate a section of the file headed: [Geographical Settings] It will probably appear similar to this: [Geographical Settings] Latitude=40.5 Longitude=98.2 Time Zone=6 Time Zone Index=50 StandardDate=10/29/06 DaylightDate=4/1/06 Edit the “StandardDate=” and “DaylightDate=” values, being careful not to change the spelling or spacing of the text on these two lines. Insert the appropriate dates for the upcoming year in these two locations. When finished, save the file, agreeing to overwrite the existing file when asked, and then restart the Lighting Supervisor III.

This completes the necessary adjustment process. It is unclear at this time if Microsoft© Windows© versions are going to handle the change properly as well.

It would be wise to inspect the time on the computer the first day of each of these period changes in order to minimize inconvenience to facility occupants.
